November, 2000: The idea of creating The Kambona Foundation arose during a visit by representatives of WILMA to the former home of the late Oscar Kambona with his widow, Flora, and his daughter, Neema. Although uninhabitable due to attempts to destroy it, the property remains in the possession of the family. While Flora and Neema had intended for some time to use the land for an institution to promote democratic principles in Africa, developing a plan to create and maintain such an institution proved to be an exeedingly complex task. WILMA's visit resulted in the specific proposals embodied in this website and some photos.
